Our experiential learning approach fosters personal growth, practical skills, and a deeper understanding of the world. This holistic approach enriches students’ understanding of the world, enhances their social responsibility, and prepares them for real-life challenges. 

Beyond the Classroom: Experiential Learning at Raha 

  • Tanzania 2025: The trip offers students a unique opportunity to experience new cultures, different ways of life, and meaningful community engagement. Through hands-on projects and shared expedition experiences, students develop teamwork, independence, and skills that support their future education and career pathways.
  • Nepal 2024:Contributing to community development and environmental conservation initiatives: whether it be helping to dig foundations for a classroom, collecting rubbish to be recycled, or planting trees, your input will change the locals’ lives, one day at a time.
  • Thailand 2023:Explore the culture of Thailand, participate in community project work, trek and develop their risk-taking at an obstacle adventure park. This trip would enable them to explore their IB Learner profiles as global citizens and will be able to use their community work

Local Trips 2025-2026

Mazaraa Farm - Grade 1

A farm visit gives Grade 1 students a hands-on way to explore how plants, animals, and people depend on one another, supporting the Sharing the Planet unit of inquiry. Through real-world experiences with farmers, animals, and crops, students learn where food comes from and how caring for the environment helps maintain healthy ecosystems.

Circuit X Adventure Park - Grade 2

Students will have the opportunity to observe and identify different forces in action during physical activities. They will be completing high ropes challenges, rock climbing, and ziplining – pushing themselves both physically and mentally. In addition, students will participate in team-building activities that promote problem-solving, risk-taking, and communication skills.

Emirates Heritage Club - Grade 3

This trip aligns with the unit Where We Are in Place and Time, which explores the central idea that past civilizations shape present and future societies. At the Heritage Village, students experience traditional forms of art, sport, trade, communication, and sportsmanship from the UAE.

Mazaraa Farm - Grade 4

Understanding market forces and making ethical decisions contribute to a successful business. At the Farm, students will experience sustainable and innovative agricultural and marketing practices. Furthermore, Grade Four students inquired into plant life cycles in their previous Science unit, so seeing the various stages of plant growth at the farm will reinforce this learning.

Yas in Schools-Yas Marina Circuit - Grade 5

Students participate in the Yas in Schools program, combining motorsport with hands-on STEM learning and team challenges, including circuit exploration, karting, reflex testing, and designing and testing model F1 cars. The experience supports the PYP unit How the World Works, exploring how purposeful design and collaboration drive innovation while developing problem-solving, teamwork, and self-management skills in a real-world context.

ADNOC Mangrove Restoration Project 2025 - Grade 7 to 11 11

The Mangrove Restoration Project connects IB learning to real-world sustainability through hands-on fieldwork in biodiversity conservation and coastal protection. Students take part in data collection, ecological observation, and seedling planting while learning how mangroves support climate action as carbon sinks and protect marine life. The project also integrates design and technology through drone-based planting, supporting interdisciplinary learning, service, and the development of collaboration, systems thinking, and reflection skills across the IB curriculum.

Othello @ NYUAD - Grade 10 to 12

Excursion to NYUAD to see a performance of Shakespeare’s “Othello”. This text and playwright is key in both English (DP HL Lit) and Theatre (studied within the production proposal unit).

Al Sultan Stable Trip – Grade 8 -10

A field trip to a stable offers student a chance to connect with nature, learn animal care, and appreciate horses. Immersed in the stable’s tranquil environment. Students develop empathy and compassion for horses while gaining practical animal care skills. The stables, also provide a setting for teamwork and collaboration. Additionally, students learn the basics of horse riding, gaining a sense of accomplishment and a deeper inderstanding of these magnificent creatures.

ADIPEC 2025 Youth Programme Trip to ADNEC Grade 7, 10 & 11

ADIPEC is one of the world’s largest energy exhibitions, bringing together over 2,200 global companies. Through Young ADIPEC, students gain access to this international event to explore the future of energy, AI, and engineering through workshops, innovation zones, and engagement with industry leaders, while discovering STEM pathways and diverse career opportunities in the energy sector.

Duke of Edinburgh Trip - Grade 10 & 11

Practice adventurous journey a requirement for successful completion of Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award. (bronze) This Bronze Practice Adventurous Journey gives MYP5 students an authentic context to develop ATL skills; especially self-management, collaboration, communication, and critical/creative thinking; through route planning, risk management, and guided reflection. It supports Service as Action and connects to PHE and Sciences (wellbeing, energy use, environmental stewardship), framed by the Global Contexts of Globalization & sustainability, Orientation in space and time, and Scientific & technical innovation.

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Trip – Grade 9

This trip serves as a tangible extension of our current learning about Islamic practices. By performing the Friday prayer together in the mosque, we will have the opportunity to witness firsthand the application of concepts we've been studying in class. From the etiquette of prayer to the architectural intricacies of the mosque itself, this experience bridges the gap between theory and practice, enriching our understanding of Islam and the cultural significance of the mosque.

Abu Dhabi Pottery Establishment Trip – Grade 6

Our school trip to the Abu Dhabi Pottery Establishment will enrich our arts curriculum and deepen our understanding of UAE culture. Students will explore traditional Emirati pottery techniques, enhancing their artistic skills and appreciating the cultural significance of pottery in the UAE. This visit bridges classroom learning with real-world cultural practices, highlighting the country's rich heritage.

The National Aquarium Trip – Grade 1

The central idea for this unit is “Human behavior and action modify the environment” and the lines of inquiry are “living things and their habitats, the impact of human behavior on the environment and responsible actions to save the planet. The various environments, flora and fauna showcased at the aquarium will help students understand sustainability, environmental challenges and eco-friendly projects happening here in Abu Dhabi and around the world.

Manarat Al Saadiyat Trip – Grade 2

Students will have the opportunity to inquire into our central idea Geography influences how communities interact with their environment. Students will have a tour of the exhibits at the museum as well as a specialized artist led workshop where students will use a variety of materials to create homes from around the world.
